The Founders

Reverend Susan Richmond was an emergency room nurse who then became ordained as an interfaith minister. She was the one who was mostly responsible for the format of the school and was instrumental in assuring that the instructors of the school were the best in their field. She was the school’s first Administrator.

Reverend Gary Culp, who was coordinating minister at Pebble Hill Church for seventeen years, comes to serve from a rich background. He attended Drew Theological Seminary, The University of Edinburgh Theological Seminary in Scotland, as well as Princeton Theological Seminary where he completed a Master's Degree in Theology. Gary also taught public school for many years while focusing on alternative education. He served as pastor in several United Methodist Churches until his ministry at Pebble. Reverend Culp has been involved in learning and teaching everything he could about the common thread of spiritual truth that weaves through all the world's religions and he has used this information to guide Pebble into its new role as an Interfaith Celebration Community.

Reverend Beverly Larue is a visionary who had the dream of attending an interfaith ministry school that represented her own belief system and philosophies such as Pebble Hill Church, in Doylestown, PA. She co-founded the School of Sacred Ministries and was ordained in the first class in 2000. She has been on the Advisory Circle that runs the school since its inception, and served for several years as the School Administrator.

Who are the Students?

O my brother! A pure heart is as a mirror; cleanse it with the burnish of love and severance from all save God, that the true sun may shine within it and the eternal morning dawn.
